We try to respond to models we would like to meet within 2 weeks of receiving your query email. Not sure if modelling is right for you, why not sign up for our course An Introduction to Modelling.

Q&A

Does signing with an agent guarantee me work? Not always. Clients often approach agents with a specific brief when looking for a model/talent. This brief can include details around age, look/colouring, height, experience etc if you do not meet a clients brief you may not receive bookings. Who should I get to take my photos for my portfolio? You can use any professional photographer to shoot portfolio shots for you. Often the agent will have a couple they can recommend. It is important to remember that often clients will select models/talent just from their portfolio images so its important to have professional images taken. Can I work for multiple agencies? You need to find an agency that has clients that support your look. You can have agents in different states representing you, all your agents should be aware of other arrangements. Agents will often not support representation by different agents within the same state. What is a casting?A casting is often not paid. Many models/talent attend a casting and the client will select from those present for their upcoming job. Castings are usually only organised when multiple talent is required for a job. Clients will often have models walk (runway style) or submit a video, if the casting is online. Is there a fee to join an agency? Some agencies may charge a fee. Excel currently does not have a joining fee however there are costs associated with wanting to become a model. Runway training for catwalk models and professional photographs which may include professional make-up and hair artist. How does an agency make money?Agencies will charge a commission or booking fee for work they secure for you. I am travelling through the NT can I work for you?Yes but only if you plan to be in the NT for more than 6 months and if an overseas resident you must have the appropriate visa. Can I meet you on the weekend? No, we work Monday to Friday like most businesses and we usually meet new talent between 12 and 3pm. Please note most 'gig's' or 'bookings' occur on weekdays so if you are unable to negotiate time off with your current employer or have a guardian in attendance on weekdays - we may not be able to represent you. A guardian must be present at all bookings if under 18.
